Happy Hour no°163 Monday 17th Sept. 2012 – Radio Ga Ga part 1

Did you know “ga-ga” in French means to be crazy about something? Well, here’s my way of sharing the importance of community radio – and you’ll hear how enthusiastic other people from around the world are too.

Radio is a media that has resisted and survived despite all the changes to the audiovisual world, and of course the onslaught of internet & its peculiar habits mostly based around a visual culture.

Tonight’s edition features interviews I recorded at the AMARC international community radio conference  held in Milan, Italy in August 1998:

Burkina Faso, Ireland, USA, Canada, Costa Rica, Zimbabwe…voices around the world calling for women’s rights, support for democracy, and help to get their stations on air…

Part 1 of a 2 part feature programme in English + Music
